FAQs

If you are looking for a training program which challenges you to engage innovatively with social issues, C4SI is the right program for you. During C4SI 2018, students from diverse backgrounds will collaborate for 2 months to co-create and co-develop social innovations in response to real-life challenges faced by leading development and international affairs organizations.
Applications to C4SI are open to all Masters and PhD students, as well as to Undergraduate students who have completed over 50% of their curriculum. All fields of study are welcome. In addition, interns and other young professionals are welcome to apply. The program is designed for students/young professionals and the majority of the events take place on weekends. We encourage applicants from outside of Geneva, who may request funding for travel costs as part of their application. However, we cannot promise to fund all participants.
C4SI 2018 is a two-month program combining in-person group activities and virtual communications, which will take place from 28 September until 24 November 2018. Participants are expected to attend the KickOff (28-29 September), the Building Impact sessions (13/10, 27/10, 10/11), and the Demo Day (24 November), as well as spend time in-between these session developing their projects with their teams.
There is no fee, all activities included are free of charge.
The application form will be available from 20 August until 21 September 2018. Your application will be reviewed by our program team and candidates will be selected based on their demonstrated interest in social innovation and impact. You will be informed about the status of your application by email on 23 September 2018.
We follow a semi-organic process of team formation, which aims to match people according to their passions and interests, but at the same time seeks to ensure that teams are interdisciplinary. When you apply, you will be asked to specify your interests. If selected to be a participant, you will pick your teams and challenges during the team-formation phase of the KickOff (28-29 September). The team-building phase will be guided by the C4SI organizing team. Your challenge will be revealed at the end of the team-formation session at the end of the first day of the KickOff.
Team projects will be evaluated by jury members with vast experience in social innovation, venture capitalist funding, and development and humanitarian issues.
You will receive a certificate of participation at the end of the program after attending all the sessions.
Academic accreditation will not be available for students in this edition.
The events will be held at different venues in Geneva. Selected participants will receive a detailed schedule at the beginning of the program.
All sessions and workshops will be conducted in English.
Requests for working spaces in Maison de la Paix are subject to availability. We encourage teams to organize virtual meetings in order to collaborate with participants from outside Geneva.
